Whatever happened to the artist CV? Do people really google you first, before they check your bio? The CV-exchange platform www.bioswop.net was founded in 2004 during the internet’s adolescence. The database was developed as a platform where artists and other cultural practitioners could borrow and lend CVs for various purposes, most importantly to erode the value of artist Cvs an attack identity as a currency. Bioswop is still online and serves the inclined community. Yet we have to constantly figure out anew how the cultural rules and techniques of presenting one’s status have shifted and how we want to deal with them.
